China Evergrande Group is the Chinese property developer founded by Hui Ka Yan that became the most indebted developer in the world before defaulting in 2021. A Hong Kong court ordered its liquidation in January 2024, and its stalled projects, including Evergrande Hongqiao International in Shanghai, are being sold through court auctions.
