Cosmic Buildings is a Los Angeles-area construction company that partnered with ABB Robotics to deploy a mobile robotic 'Micro-Factory,' a tent-housed system built around a single large robotic arm, in Pacific Palisades to help rebuild after the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. The robot assembles two-by-six lumber into framed wall panels in about 20 minutes each, cutting full house-frame construction time to roughly 10 days, a 70 percent reduction versus conventional framing. As of the project's rollout, Cosmic was working directly with 45 fire-displaced families.
