Deer Valley Resort
Park City, United States
Deer Valley Resort is a ski-only resort in Park City, Utah that opened on December 26, 1981, developed by Edgar Stern, and is owned by Alterra Mountain Company, whose owner is KSL Capital Partners. It built its reputation on five-star-hotel style service, limited daily lift ticket sales and dining, and has been named the United States' Best Ski Resort by the World Ski Awards for 13 consecutive years. Its Expanded Excellence program, announced in August 2023, is adding a new base village, Deer Valley East Village, developed by Extell Development Company, and more than doubling skiable terrain toward a planned 5,726 acres. Ten lifts were added from December 2024, including the East Village Express gondola celebrated with a ribbon cutting in February 2026, bringing the resort to 4,300 acres and 31 lifts, and Hail Peak Express will take it to 4,500 acres and 32 lifts for 2026/27. East Village is planned for over 800 hotel rooms and nearly 1,700 residential units; Canopy Deer Valley, Extell's 180-room Hilton hotel, opened there in September 2026.
