Diriyah Company
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Diriyah Company is the Public Investment Fund company redeveloping Diriyah, the birthplace of the first Saudi state on the northwestern edge of Riyadh, around the UNESCO World Heritage At-Turaif district. It began in 2017 as the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, its board is chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and it has been led since 2018 by Group CEO Jerry Inzerillo, a former Kerzner and Morgans Hotel Group executive. The company describes the project as a $63.2 billion development over about 14 square kilometres that is planned to draw 50 million visits a year and house more than 100,000 residents. Its hospitality plan calls for more than 40 hotels with over 6,500 rooms across Diriyah and neighbouring Wadi Safar; the first, the 134-room Bab Samhan (a Luxury Collection hotel), opened in December 2024. In November 2024 it broke ground on seven luxury hotels at once (Raffles, Armani, Orient Express, Baccarat, Corinthia, Fauchon L'Hotel and Rosewood) with 877 rooms combined. Bujairi Terrace and At-Turaif opened to the public in December 2022, and Inzerillo said in 2025 that Diriyah had logged more than three million visits since then.
