PadSplit
Atlanta, United States
PadSplit is an Atlanta-based online marketplace for coliving, where hosts list furnished private rooms in shared homes with utilities included and members rent them weekly with no minimum credit score or long-term lease. Founder and CEO Atticus LeBlanc, a Yale-trained urban planner and longtime Atlanta affordable housing investor, started the company in 2017 after entering an affordable housing competition; it is organized as a public benefit corporation and runs fully remote. PadSplit has raised about $35 million in venture funding, all three priced rounds led by Core Innovation Capital: a $4.6 million seed in April 2019, a $10 million Series A in August 2020 and a $20.5 million Series B in November 2021, with Cox Enterprises, Citi, Kapor Capital, Impact Engine and Mark Cuban Companies among its backers. Growth has been steep: from about 16,500 rooms in 21 markets in January 2025 to 36,000+ rooms in 40+ markets and 85,000+ people housed by August 2026, when it made the Inc. 5000 for a fifth straight year with 350% three-year revenue growth. It added Vacasa co-founder Cliff Johnson as President in January 2025 and expanded into Portland, Seattle, Sacramento and Nashville in January 2026, while its dense room conversions have drawn pushback from some Atlanta-area municipalities, including a 2023 court fight after the City of Morrow evacuated 22 tenants from three PadSplit homes.
