VTS

New York, United States

VTS is a New York-based commercial real estate software platform used by landlords, asset managers and brokers for leasing management, asset management, tenant experience, market data and, through VTS Activate, multifamily resident experience. It was co-founded by former brokers Nick Romito (CEO) and Ryan Masiello (Chief Strategy Officer), launched around 2012 as a video listing tool (the name stood for View the Space) and pivoted to leasing software, merging with rival Hightower in November 2016. VTS became a unicorn with a $90 million Series D led by Brookfield Ventures in 2019 and in September 2022 raised more than $125 million in a Series E led by CBRE, which put in $100 million, alongside a $150 million debt facility, at a reported valuation of about $1.7 billion; it later bought Lane and Rise Buildings to build out tenant experience. The company reported more than $100 million in annual revenue in 2022 but cut about 20% of staff in August 2024 after its return-to-office bets underdelivered. It now says 13 billion square feet and more than 60% of U.S. Class A office space run on the platform, launched VTS AI in 2025 and Asset Intelligence (AI lease data extraction) in April 2026, and hired former Point72 AI head Adam Champy as Chief Product Officer in March 2026.
