Harrison Street is a Chicago based alternative investment management firm focused on real assets, investing across student housing, senior housing, medical office, life sciences, self storage, and data center properties. Founded in 2005 and led by co founder and CEO Christopher Merrill, the firm has built its strategy around demographic driven demand rather than economic cycles. Colliers International acquired a majority stake in Harrison Street in 2018, and the firm has since consolidated several of Colliers investment management businesses under the Harrison Street brand, pushing assets under management to roughly 109 billion dollars with about 600 employees across offices in North America, Europe, and Asia.
