Louisiana LNG — Additional Equity Stake (Foundation Phase)

Lake Charles, LA, USA

Woodside Energy is continuing to seek additional equity partners for its Louisiana LNG project (Calcasieu Parish, near Lake Charles) beyond its existing partner Stonepeak, which holds a 40% stake acquired for $5.7 billion (closed June 2025). Woodside CEO Meg O'Neill said in February 2026 the company continues to see "strong interest from additional potential partners," alongside a separate non-binding collaboration agreement with Saudi Aramco's XRG on potential equity and offtake. The three-train foundation project (16.5 mtpa) carries total capex of $17.5 billion and has expansion capacity to five trains (27.6 mtpa); it is directly adjacent to the LNG-export theme in the GLO's own dispute with Washington over export licensing.
