Steven J. Hilton is the Executive Chairman and co-founder of Meritage Homes, having served as Chairman and CEO for 35 years before retiring as CEO in 2021. He played a pivotal role in taking Monterey Homes, Meritage's predecessor, public in 1997 and has been a director since 1996. Hilton holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona and has served on several nonprofit and corporate boards. His extensive experience and leadership have been instrumental in shaping Meritage Homes’ growth and strategic direction.
