Wael Sawan has served as Chief Executive Officer of Shell plc since January 2023, leading the company’s global strategy and transformation initiatives. He joined Shell in 1997 and has held a variety of senior leadership roles across the company’s upstream, integrated gas, and renewables businesses. Sawan is recognized for driving operational excellence and sustainability, with a focus on delivering value while reducing emissions. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
