Fairmont Century Plaza Renovation
Century City, Los Angeles, California
The Fairmont Century Plaza is a comprehensive $2.5 billion mixed-use development project that transformed the iconic 1966 mid-century modern hotel designed by Minoru Yamasaki into a luxury hospitality and residential destination in Century City, Los Angeles. The project encompasses the complete renovation of the original 19-story hotel tower, now featuring 400 guest rooms and 63 residential condominiums, alongside two new 44-story residential towers containing 268 luxury units, 94,000 square feet of boutique retail space, and world-class amenities including a spa, rooftop pool, and fine dining establishments. The renovation preserved the hotel's historic architectural significance while modernizing all systems, implementing LEED Silver standards, and restoring the property's position as a premier venue for major Hollywood events and industry gatherings. The project was completed and reopened on September 27, 2021, under management by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, and has since hosted the Academy Awards Nominees lunch, Critics Choice awards, and other prestigious industry events.
