General Motors U.S. Manufacturing Expansion

General Motors is undertaking a $4 billion expansion across its manufacturing plants in Michigan, Kansas, and Tennessee to boost production capacity for both gas-powered and electric vehicles. The project will enable GM to assemble over two million vehicles annually in the U.S., supporting strong demand for full-size SUVs, pickup trucks, and next-generation EVs. Key facilities include Orion Assembly in Michigan, Fairfax Assembly in Kansas, and Spring Hill Manufacturing in Tennessee, each adding new model lines and advanced manufacturing capabilities. Currently under construction, the expansion is scheduled for phased completion by the end of 2026.
