Hyundai-Steel America Manufacturing & Logistics Facility
Donaldsonville, Louisiana
The Hyundai-Steel America Manufacturing & Logistics Facility is a $5.8 billion ultra-low carbon steel production complex under development in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, near New Orleans. The project will feature a state-of-the-art electric arc furnace (EAF) mill with an annual capacity of 2.7 million metric tons, primarily supplying Hyundai and Kia’s U.S. automotive plants. Spanning 1,700 acres within the RiverPlex MegaPark, it will anchor Hyundai’s first North American steel facility and create over 1,300 direct jobs. Currently in advanced planning, the facility is expected to break ground in 2026 and will play a pivotal role in reshoring automotive steel supply chains and advancing sustainable manufacturing.
