Kingston Energy Complex

The Kingston Energy Complex is a major energy infrastructure project under construction in Kingston, Tennessee, designed to replace the aging Kingston Coal Plant with a state-of-the-art, multi-fuel power generation facility. The project, led by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), will feature a 750 MW combined-cycle natural gas plant, 800 MW of flex-fuel aeroderivative turbines, 100 MW of battery storage, and up to 4 MW of solar generation. This complex is significant for its role in modernizing the region's energy supply, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting the transition away from coal-fired power. Construction is progressing, with completion targeted for late 2027 and full operational status expected soon after.
