LG Chem Cathode Plant

The LG Chem Cathode Plant in Clarksville, Tennessee, is a landmark industrial project set to become the largest cathode manufacturing facility in the United States. Spanning 420 acres, the plant will produce up to 60,000 tons of nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum cathode material annually in its first phase, supporting the production of batteries for approximately 600,000 high-performance electric vehicles per year. The facility is designed to operate entirely on renewable energy and features advanced automation, smart factory technology, and robust quality control systems. As of late 2025, the project is under construction, with mass production targeted for 2026.
