Northvolt Gigafactory Germany

Northvolt Gigafactory Germany, known as Northvolt Drei, is a large-scale battery cell manufacturing facility under construction in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein. The project aims to deliver up to 60 GWh of battery cells annually, primarily for electric vehicles and energy storage, using renewable energy from the region’s robust wind power resources. As Northvolt’s first major plant outside Sweden, it is strategically significant for Europe’s clean energy transition and the automotive supply chain. Construction began in 2023, with operations expected to commence in 2026.
