Panasonic Energy EV Battery Plant
De Soto, Kansas
The Panasonic Energy EV Battery Plant in De Soto, Kansas is a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility spanning 4.7 million square feet on a 300-acre site. Designed to produce cylindrical 2170 cells, the plant targets an annual output of 32 GWh, enough to power approximately 500,000 electric vehicles per year. As the largest economic development project in Kansas history, it is expected to create up to 4,000 direct jobs and catalyze significant regional economic growth. The facility began mass production in July 2025 and is ramping up toward full operational capacity.
