Scout Motors Production Center
Blythewood, South Carolina
Scout Motors is constructing a state-of-the-art electric vehicle manufacturing facility on 1,100 acres in Blythewood, South Carolina, representing a $2 billion investment to produce next-generation all-electric trucks and rugged SUVs. The facility will feature a body shop, paint shop, final assembly buildings, employee training center, and technology center, designed with cutting-edge manufacturing technology and environmental sustainability measures including carbon neutrality goals. At peak capacity, the production center will manufacture 200,000 vehicles annually (40 per hour) and create over 4,000 permanent jobs, revitalizing the Midlands region and reshoring American automotive manufacturing. As of September 2024, the project is progressing with significant structural work underway, including 57% steel installation in the assembly building and first exterior walls installed on the paint shop.
