Tesla Nevada Gigafactory Expansion

The Tesla Nevada Gigafactory Expansion is a major project to add two new factories to the existing Gigafactory in Storey County, Nevada, including a 100 GWh 4680 battery cell facility and Tesla's first high-volume Semi truck production plant. The expansion aims to significantly increase battery manufacturing capacity, supporting up to 1.5 million light-duty vehicles annually and producing up to 50,000 Tesla Semi trucks per year. This project is a cornerstone in Tesla's strategy to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy and strengthen the U.S. electric vehicle supply chain. As of late 2025, construction is ongoing, with exterior structures nearing completion and production targeted to begin in 2025.
