Chapman Residence by Kendrick Bangs Kellogg

Solana Beach, California, United States

An organic modernist house in Solana Beach by Kendrick Bangs Kellogg, designed for the artists Wayne and Barbara Chapman. What began as a modest circa 1960 tract house was transformed by Kellogg into a tri-level composition of wood and glass, with the Chapmans closely involved in its construction. The house has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and about 3,927 sq ft on an 8,300 sq ft lot, with sculptural fireplaces, hand-carved doors, fluid nature-inspired forms, a ceramics studio, Japanese-inspired entry gardens and ocean views.
