Northridge Meadows Apartments
Northridge, CA, United States
A 164-unit apartment building in Northridge, California that partially collapsed in the 1994 Northridge earthquake, killing 16 residents. Decades later the property became a centerpiece of a family partnership dispute: brothers Shashi and Haresh Jogani built a roughly 170-building, $1 billion Southern California apartment portfolio together starting in the 1970s, and a 2024 trial produced a $6.85 billion judgment against Haresh that an appellate court substantially reduced in February 2026 after finding the damages model relied on undisclosed hypothetical investment projections.
