Stargate Data Center Campus (Saline Township)

A planned $16 billion, 21-million-square-foot data center campus across roughly 1,000 acres in Saline Township, Michigan, drawing 1.4 gigawatts of power from DTE Energy to serve OpenAI and Oracle under the Stargate initiative. Related Digital bought the site in May 2025; the township's planning commission and board both rejected a rezoning request that September (the board voting 4-1 against), Related Digital sued alleging exclusionary zoning, and the township settled for roughly $14 million in community benefits before construction began in November 2025. OpenAI and Oracle publicly announced the site in January 2026.
